Focuses on knitting, crocheting and sewing in order to provide love and care to those who are sick or grieving. Currently, prayer shawls, lap blankets, and pillowcases are being made with love and prayer, and are delivered to friends, colleagues, neighbors, family members, and those in the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
St. James provides opportunities: for individuals, groups, organizations and companies to contribute to our food pantry, and a chance for those who need food to get groceries once a month. Click here to learn more about helping or using the Food Pantry.
Every two years, we go on a mission trip that focuses on disaster relief or home repair for those living in poverty. Our trips are inter-generational and include both teens and adults. Financial assistance for those wanting to go is available upon request.
St. James is in partnership with Tabernacle United Church, Philadelphia and Old First Reformed Church, Philadelphia in the sending letters and cards to inmates in both Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties, and providing post release support.
Sam's Kitchen / Life Center
Six times a year, every other month, we prepare dinner and a snack bag for 90 homeless and low- income people living either at the Life Center of Delaware County (63rd and Market Streets) or in the surrounding neighborhood. There are both daytime, as well as evening cooking crews, and there is an opportunity to also go down and serve the meal and distribute the snack bags, as well as do shopping for items needed for cooking.
Please use the link below to get more specific dates of service, and contact information for the missions/outreaches can be found in our Activities and Events' section.
